New Orleans Charm with Christmas Trimmings

New Orleans puts on such a good show at Christmas time!  We checked off one of our GSP bucket list items by taking a tour of Uptown and Garden District's best dressed homes, and snapping pics along the way.

You can take the streetcar with its little bough of holly to see this house on St. Charles Avenue line.

Wide porches and decorative window frames give lots of places for garlands to be draped just so.  The combination of poinsettias and camellias is my favorite!

This pooch lives the life and never budges from his post as guard dog. He needs antlers...or a Santa hat, at least, to really round this picture out.

If we can't have a white Christmas, at least we can have white camellias in bloom!

Rockin' around the Christmas porch.  I'll take an egg nog and a sit here, please.

We drove up Saint Charles and then wound in and out of the "numbered" streets between Prytania and Magazine to find all these holiday gems, if you were interested in taking a similar tour!
